The Three Doctors

Carnival of Monsters

Cast:

The Doctor has promised Jo Grant a holiday on Metebelis III, but instead of the famous blue planet, the TARDIS materializes on board the S.S. Bernice, sailing to India in 1926.

Before long the travelers are captured and locked away as stowaways. However, just as their eventual escape brings them face to face with their captors again - who claim never to have seen them before - the ship is attacked by a long extinct underwater dinosaur!

On the planet Inter-Minor, the visiting Lurman entertainer Vorg and his assistant Shrina are demonstrating a dilapidated miniscope to the cynical and xenophobic governmental ministers who would prefer Inter-Minor kept free of aliens. Vorg explains that his scope contains actual miniaturized living creatures, including Cybermen, Ogrons and a group of humans aboard a ship apparently sailing to India! Kalik, one of the Minoran officials, sees an opportunity to exploit the dangers inherent in the scope to frighten the Government into implementing his exclusionist policies.

The Doctor and Jo discover they are inside the miniscope and leave the SS Bernice via the machine's conduits to find themselves in a marsh populated by ferocious omnivores - Drashigs. Meanwhile, outside the scope Kalik's machinations have allowed the Drashigs to escape into the real world...

Frontier in Space

Cast:

"The treaty between out two empires established a frontier in space. We have never violated that frontier. You have invaded our part of the galaxy many times!"

It is the 26th Century. Known space is divided between the great empires of Earth and Draconia. A fragile peace exists between the humans and the lizard like Draconians, a peace that is put in jeopardy when each race claims that its cargo vessels are being raided by the other's warships.

When the TARDIS accidentally brings the Doctor and Jo aboard Earth cargo ship C982, they find it under attack. As the ship is boarded, a strange pulsing sound fills the air. The crew believe their attackers to be Draconians, but the Doctor and Jo see only Ogrons - brutish simian mercenaries - who steal the cargo, including the TARDIS, and head off into space.

The Doctor's investigations take him to Earth, the Moon and then Draconia itself. He discovers that the Ogrons are employed by his sworn enemy the Master, who is attempting to provoke a war between the space empires. The Doctor suspects the scale of the plan is too grand for the Master, but even he is shocked to discover the identity of the far deadlier foe waiting in the wings

Planet of the Daleks

Cast:

Injured after a shoot-out between his old nemesis the Master and the Ogrons, slaves to the evil Daleks, the Doctor sends a message to the Time Lords, asking them to pilot his TARDIS and follow the Daleks to their new base. After he slips into a coma, it falls to his assistant Jo Grant to explore the planet where the TARDIS finally materializes. Not only must the Doctor contend with the Daleks' new stratagem, but he must try to stop them from unleashing a plague that will exterminate all organic life. When a rescue ship of Thals arrive, they bring with them the darker news still - somewhere on Spiridon 12,000 Daleks are waiting to emerge and take what they believe is their rightful place as the Universe's supreme beings!

The Green Death

Cast:

EARTH, SOUTH WALES. The suspicious death of a miner at the inactive local pit owned by the mysterious Global Chemicals brings UNIT to the sleepy Llanfairfach. There, a local green group - the Wholeweal Community under the leadership of the brilliant Professor Jones - are not convinced of Global's innocence in the affair. Could the waste products from their revolutionary new oil refining process be at fault? Jones is convinced but the Doctor is not so sure and a dangerous expedition down the mine confirms his fears. For there, thousands of giant maggots lie gestating - a dangerously unknown terror waiting to be unleashed upon the world. But by whom? Just who is the power behind Global Chemicals? Who or what is the BOSS? And what are his/its plans for the Earth?

The Doctor, Jo and the Brigadier must move quickly to find the answers, for the death toll is already rising and the gestation period of the maggots down the mine is coming to an end...
