Life and Death in a Jar

Mars tank 5/5/2001

The Martians are continuing to grow at an alarming rate. None of them have started dying off as experienced in the initial weeks of the other two tanks and I am continuing to aerate them daily. This tank has taken first place as the most successful experiment by far. The tank is just alive with Sea-Monkeys darting all over the place, over and under the arches and around the landing pod. I wonder what they make of the "monkey-naut" suspended on the teather? They are almost ready for their first dose of plasma in just a few days.

All the lovin' of the past week seems to be over for a while in the other two tanks... (could be because I turned the temperature down hehe). The colony in the Galleon tank seems to be holding it's own fairly well. New Sea-Monkeys have been born and I haven't seen any evidence of any deaths. The castle tank is pretty murky these days... I think I will Sea-Medic them; I found a dead Sea-Monkey in the Castle tank this afternoon. It was a female. I don't know the cause of death. I removed the blackened body and aerated the tank really good. Looks like we have a sick tank to take care of. The Magic Castle tank will get a daily aeration for a while and I will hold off on feeding them until the water clears up.
