Life on Mars
I fed the Martians today. They have been progressing very well and most of them are about half the size
of adults. There seems to be more of them in the initial hatching than there were in the Magic Castle
tank. Right now there are so many that I can't count them, there could be as many as a hundered but that
is just an estimation. As per instructions, they have received a daily aeration with the Million-Bubble air pump. With all
the attention the Martians are getting, in just a few days they could be most successful experiment to
date. This weekend the Martians will get their first dose of plasma.
The love-fest continues in the other two tanks. There seem to be many more Sea-Monkeys in the Galleon
tank now than in the Magic Castle! Lots of new Sea-Monkeys appear each day in Galleon tank which makes
me suspect that some of the females have been laying eggs and they have begun to hatch. The water in
the Castle tank has started to get a little murky, so I aerated them and am letting them skip a feeding so
they can clean it up some. Tiny little tufts of algae have started growing on the castle and around
the ship so they may not need to be fed quite as often; I will be monitoring this closely. Sunday I will
be giving the Castle tanks it's second dose of plasma.
I went to Wal-Mart recently and purchased a nice little fishing tackle box to keep all my Sea-Monkey stuff in. It is a
really nice way to keep up with the various items such as Aqua-Leashes, Million-Bubble air pumps, and feeding spoons.
It is nice and deep and has a removable tray, but the lid is the best part. it had a built in
compartment covered with a clear plastic cover for storing the various packets of food, vitamins, and
medicine.
